How to use Yahoo Mail in Claude and ChatGPT

Why an app password

Yahoo does not let other apps sign in to your mailbox with your usual password. They need an app password, generated in your Yahoo account security settings. It only gives access to your mail, and you can revoke it at any time without changing your main password.

Yahoo's server settings

Fezola has no Yahoo preset yet, so choose Other and enter these values, published in Yahoo's help pages:

• Incoming (IMAP): imap.mail.yahoo.com, port 993, TLS.
• Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port 465, TLS.
• Login: your full Yahoo email address.

Step by step

1. 1

   Create a Yahoo app password

   Sign in to your Yahoo account, open Account security, then Create app password (under External connections). Name it Fezola, generate it and copy it. Yahoo recommends a browser you usually sign in with, not a private window.

   Create a Fezola account

   Sign up for free. The Free plan includes 2 sources: Yahoo and one other mailbox, for example.

   Add your Yahoo mailbox

   In Sources, add a mailbox and choose Other. Enter your Yahoo address, paste the app password, then fill in the server settings above. Click Test the connection, then add the mailbox.

   Add Fezola to Claude or ChatGPT

   In Claude: Customize, Connectors, + Add, Add custom connector, name it Fezola and paste https://api.fezola.com/mcp. In ChatGPT (paid plans): Settings, Apps & Connectors, Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then Create a connector with the same URL and OAuth.

   Approve access

   Your assistant opens a Fezola sign-in and consent screen listing the sources it will access. Once you accept, the tools are available in your conversations.

   Ask about your Yahoo Mail

   Try: “What came into my Yahoo inbox this week that needs an answer?”, “Move the newsletters from today into a Newsletters folder” or “Draft a reply to the last email from my bank.”
