How to use Telegram in Claude and ChatGPT

As of November 2026, Claude and ChatGPT have no built-in Telegram connector. Fezola adds your own Telegram account through one custom MCP connector: sign in once with your phone number and the code Telegram sends you, and your assistant can catch up on private messages, mentions and replies in groups, search your conversations and read a chat, next to your mailboxes and Google Chat. It is read-only: nothing is sent and nothing is marked as read.

What your assistant can do with Telegram

  • Catch up: messages received in private conversations and, in groups, those that mention you or reply to you, since a given time.
  • Find what you have not answered: each message says whether you wrote in the conversation since, and whether it is unread.
  • List your conversations (people, groups, channels), most recently active first, with unread and mention counts.
  • Search with Telegram's own search, across all conversations or inside one.
  • Read a conversation, oldest first, and page back through older messages.

Bot connectors and self-hosted servers

Many Telegram connectors use a bot token. A bot only sees messages sent to it or to groups it has joined, so it cannot read your own private conversations.

Open-source servers that use your own account do read them, but you host them yourself and create your own Telegram API credentials. Some also expose tools to send messages or mark them as read.

Fezola connects your own account without any setup, keeps it read-only, and puts it in the same connector as your email and Google Chat.

How the connection works

Fezola signs in to Telegram like a new device: it shows up as Fezola in Telegram, Settings, Devices, where you can log it out at any time. The session is encrypted before it is saved, and messages are read live, never stored.

Step by step

  1. Create a Fezola account

Sign up for free. The Free plan includes 2 sources: Telegram and one mailbox, for example.

  2. Connect Telegram

Open Telegram in the Fezola menu and click Connect Telegram. Enter your phone number in international format, then the code Telegram sends you in the app (chat “Telegram”). If your account has two-step verification, enter your Telegram password too.

  3. Add your mailboxes (optional)

In Sources, add Gmail, iCloud or any IMAP mailbox, and Google Chat, so your assistant can answer across chats and email.

  4. Add Fezola to Claude or ChatGPT

In Claude: Customize, Connectors, + Add, Add custom connector, name it Fezola and paste https://api.fezola.com/mcp. In ChatGPT (paid plans): Settings, Apps & Connectors, Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then Create a connector with the same URL and OAuth.

  5. Approve access

Your assistant opens a Fezola sign-in and consent screen listing the sources it will access. Once you accept, the tools are available in your conversations.

  6. Ask about your chats

Try: “What did I miss on Telegram today?”, “Which private messages have I not answered this week?” or “Find the address Alex sent me on Telegram last month.”

Why Fezola

  • Your own Telegram account, private messages included, next to Gmail, iCloud, any IMAP mailbox and Google Chat.
  • No bot, no API credentials, no server to host.
  • Read-only: nothing is sent, and reading does not mark anything as read.
  • Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other MCP clients.
  • Messages are read live and never stored; the Telegram session is encrypted.

Questions

Does Claude or ChatGPT have a Telegram connector?

Not a built-in one as of November 2026. Both can read Telegram through a custom MCP connector such as Fezola.

Can my assistant send Telegram messages?

No. Telegram is read-only in Fezola: your assistant reads and searches, it never sends, reacts or marks anything as read.

Does it read my private conversations, or only groups?

Both. Fezola connects your own account, not a bot, so your assistant sees your private conversations, groups and channels, the same as your Telegram app.

How do I disconnect it?

Disconnect Telegram in Fezola, which logs Fezola out and erases its session, or end the Fezola session from Telegram, Settings, Devices.

How much does it cost?

Free for 2 sources. Pro connects up to 20 sources for $9 per month or $90 per year, with a 7-day free trial. Each Telegram account counts as one source.
